Ok, I've now got enough lighting equipment I need a bag for it. :) Anyway, was thinking about this bag from Kata:

I like Kata's stuff and this is a good price. I just wonder if anyone else has one. I wanted to know if it'll fit 2 or 3 stands and umbrellas in it or not.
If not this, what else are you guys/gals using? I don't want to forget or lose stuff because I don't have a bag to carry it all.
Thanks.

For my "strobist" kit, I use this bag (Hakuba) (http://www.arlingtoncamera.com/shop/products/Hakuba_PSTC_100_Medium_Tripod_Case-9142-0.html). It's perfect for the compact light-stands & umbrellas.
For my heavy-duty 13' light-stands and such, I purchased a "speaker stands" bag from Guitar Center for about $25.00. It's padded well and is of good build quality.
Good luck! There seems to never be a perfect bag for anything, but the two listed above work exceptionally well for their jobs, for me. YMMV

How many strobist kits fit in that bag? I have been looking for a bag for it all. Do any flashes fit too?
Thanks

I just order a bag for light stands from this location. Exactly what I was looking for.

Hey John,
Sorry for the delay.
I carry 2 of the compact Nano stands and double-fold umbrellas in this bag. It will fit 3 of said combos in the bag. With 2 combos, you can also fit 2 speedlights (actually probably 4) in the bag also. There is a fairly large side pocket also that I keep a flash meter in.
I'm pretty sure you could fit 3 said combos in the bag and possibly 3 speedlights also, although it would be full.
What I really like about the bag aside from it's good build quality, is that it is the perfect size for said combo units. It's not too big. That was the problem I was having trying to find a bag for those compact units. All the other bags were too long and you'd wind up with a bigger unwieldy bag than you needed, and your stuff would slide all around in the bigger bags.
BTW, it fits a 43" regular umbrella just fine. I carry a 43" standard bounce umbrella in there as a backup. You know, for when the wind knocks over your stand and bends the umbrella ribs past repair :rolleyes
Hope that helps...

I picked up a baseball bat bag from academy and it was perfect. Seperate pouches for stands and umbrellas

Hmm, hadn't thought of that. Not a bad idea. Problem is I know those bags can get quite expensive.

Mine arrived on Saturday. I bought the smallest size but it's about 4 inches too long. It's good enough though and looks very well made.
