I shot these a couple months ago and never got around to posting them. We were able to view a Bobcat and her kittens near her den. We weren't able to get very close so the quality of the shots is not that great , but it was a neat experience to them in the wild.

those shots are fantastic...I hope you had a little time to enjoy them away from the viewfinder as well...precious few ever have the chance to see Mother, let alone baby too!
:jawdrop :wow

Keep the location of this precious den, close to your chest, as unfortunately, some of your neighbors may not be animal lovers.

Did you take the photos and run with them? All I see are red Xs.

Yes, Steve, thanks.

The cats are gorgeous, both big and small. I bet they could teach my cat chasing dogs a thing or two.

Nice get!

Thanks for you comments Anson,
It trully was a neat experience to see mom and kittens playing in their natural state. You can be sure that no one will find out the location of this den from me!

Steve,

Glad to here that you are keeping the location secret!

What a treat...how long were they in view for and how close were you able to get before they scattered?

We were able to watch them for about 2 hours. We were able to get about 100 yrds from them. I didn't want to approach any closer as I didn't feel it was right to disturb them in their own habitat.

you most likely remember the name from Sony talk....
especially those Halpren tussles, before we collectively (with much effort),
got rid of him!
Never would happen here, thanks to the moderators..!

I see you have just been given your very own smilie...
it certainly is a perfect fit.

How has your Shirpa been working out,
who is responsible for hauling around that Bigggg-new (reach out and touch) lens?

2 HOURS...

I was expecting you to come back with an answer of maybe (if you were lucky) 2 or 3 minutes.

2 Hours WOW! :jawdrop :clap

How beautiful to be able to see that in the wild...
I am glad that you will indeed keep their nest secret. I think they have enough trouble staying alive as it is without some stupid human interference...
(I mean stupid as in people who want to kill them)
Great shots in a difficult situation. Loved to see those photo's...
