Welcome to Dgrin. :wave :lynnma :drums :dj :beer :flash

Thats really a fine shot. The clarity of the cat's eye really makes the shot a step above most shots. :clap

As a fellow Dutch Africa lover, I really like your galleries Ruud. In October, I'll go to Botswana and see what it's like to bring a good telezoom to a safari.

Hi Marlof,

Botswana is really great, are you travelling by yourself or are joining a party?
Specially Savutu and Moremi are beautifull!!> I hope to come back once.
What kind of telezoom do you use?
Have a great time!! and make good pics:thumb

We'll be travelling through African Holidays (http://www.africanholidays.nl/reis.asp?reis_id=1720). We've been on several of their trips (in Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia) and traveled on our own in South Africa and Namibia.

I'll be using the 50-200 2.8-3.5 for my Olympus E-1. I'll probably get the 1.4 teleconverter to go with it, bringing it from 400mm equiv to 560equiv. Quite a change from the 200mm on my Sony 828 that I brought to Zambia (http://marlof.smugmug.com/gallery/309383) before. :)

Anyhow, I'd love to get a great shot like the one you've showed in here.

we had a great luck when we took this picture, our driver knew there was a female leopard with 2 cubs and we were very lucky by finding them...:clap
Next week go to Kruger but I also hope to go to Zambia once. I think it 's a beautifull 'safari' country?!

I'm simply in love with Zambia. The best thing they offer there are the safaris by foot through the South Luangwa NP. Less photo opportunities (you can't get that close to the animals when you're on foot), but an unforgettable safari experience. We've been to the camps by the Buschcamp Company, and they were outstanding. The only thing is that that your campground is not fenced, and your cabin has no means of locking it. The only thing between you and the cats is a staircase and a mosquito net.... :)
