I was wondering whether standard account users have any way to change the green color on the new look to some other color. I find that it damages the (previously) elegant look of my gallery pages. Yuck. I hate to think that I have to upgrade to a power account just to make this change.

currently, no. in order to do any customization, you have to have an upgraded account.
thanks for the feedback on the colors, sorry i don't have a better answer for you.

Hi risinmadrid,
Ouch, I'm sorry you don't like the green but I can certainly understand the rude awakening you must have received if you're allergic to green. :uhoh
This is step 2 of customization and the plan is to provide standard users with many color schemes and themes they can choose from. You'd just pick from a pull-down menu and be done. This step enables us to get there but we have work to do before we can roll it out...
I wish I had a better answer for you today.
All the best,
Chris
P.S. Madrid, Spain?

P.S. Madrid, Spain? Chris,
I find all that green jarring in the context of the cool, sophisticated and muted look of Smugmug. Maybe it just reminds me of the bad old days on a dumb terminal...I was one of the first to grab an amber screen when they became available. :): Anyway, I am glad to hear that you plan to offer more options in the future.
Yep, Madrid, Spain. Great place to live if it weren't so hot in summer :1drink
Cheers,
