curiosity killed the cat, but I still want to know what you guys think of this one...
bin or not to bin
I am a bit undeciisive towards this photograph. I like the green tint, but wonder if people can share my meaning.

I think the shot is nice. I like the green, and I really like your compostion. However, I find the out of focus stamen in the middle a little distracting. If it is possible to reshoot and get your focus on that i think the shot would be fantastic:):

Hi Catherine,
I'm in somewhat agreement with the comments above. I'm thinking a greater DOF to bring more into focus. I'm seeing the whole flower as your subject, pedals, stamen and colors all working together. Your shallow DOF is cutting out some of your subject, almost like cropping it out. If you want the stamens to be your subject, then a shallow DOF would work providing all the stamen are in focus.
I like the comp and the shot as a whole:D. Your lighting is right on for me. I like the texture and shapes in the pedals on the left so that's one reason for greater DOF. The background pedal in the lower left of the shot serves no purpose and could be cropped out. Of course, these are just my .02.
Thanks for sharing,
Chris

I tried it with bigger DOF, it was a clearer day then monday, so I could crank up the aperture...
Thanks for the suggestions made before. I am glad I went back...
It seems sharper though on the original post in my smugmug gallery then copied into this thread... Weird

... did you should this picture? I think the light in the other two pictures was better. Softer. I'm a sweet light addict :D
I looked at your website and did not see the difference in sharpness btw.
I like the compo but I like the compo's of the first two maybe even better. There's more tension there. Just my 2c.

The light is different Adrian, today was a very sunny day, and we were there just at noon... so that makes up for the harder light.
If you don't see a difference in sharpness, it might have been in my mind, I have some more in that serie (the green ones) with other comps', but they are all in the same genre, I will have a look at the other comps...
Thanks for taking a look and for the comment. ;o))))

This one is sharper, but, lighting and composition isn't quite on the money.Keep up the good effort.
