One of my pictures is being used for the cover of a upcoming book!

Hiking Washington's History by Judy Bentley (http://www.amazon.com/Hiking-Washingtons-History-Samuel-Althea/dp/0295990635/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1273335426&sr=8-1)

Okay, it's a limited run regional topic book, but it's still pretty cool to see my picture on the cover of a book! :D

Thank you! However there is no pay only credit. The publisher is the University of Washington Press, which is part of the University of Washington Graduate School (who I work for). Both the Press & The Grad School are suffering severely from state cutbacks. Back in the day there would be payment for use of photos, but now the press has to rely entirely on images from their library, images from the author, or donated images.

...and hence some more truth about how I really got published :rolleyes

but its still cool to see one of my prints on the cover of a book :barb

and I should mention, smugmug made it easy to have a HUGE library of my images (42K+) for the publisher to look though and find what they needed, without having the general public also doing the same thing.

Hopefully, now that I have a working relationship with the publisher, I might get more opportunities like this!

Whoo hooo! :barb It's been 5 months since I started this thread, but the book is finally out! I just picked up my copy.

I should also mention that I'm working with the book designer on using another photo for a book cover. :D
