Okay, and the question is: How long before you go and make one?

Totally c00L:clap

That rig is awesome! The video is very nicely shot and produced as well. Thanks for sharing.

That guy's Dad is a true hard-core woodworker. Not only does he have all of the best tools, and even uses his lathe for metal working in addition to wood working, but he started with a raw branch instead of store-bought lumber. Mighty impressive.

Funny thing is, he integrated a zoom-adjust into the left handle, but he didn't integrate a shutter release, so he still has to take his right hand off the handle to hit the shutter release button for pre-focus and to snap the shot. Of course, it should be an easy matter to add a wired remote to the 7D and run it down to the right handle.

I think he is shooting video with this rig, not still images.

Right, he is using it for video. Once you start the video acquisition you don't need to touch the shutter.

He integrated a "follow focus" adjustment capability, not a zoom function. This bracket is designed for video use.

It would be real easy to add a wired remote release, or even a wireless remote shutter release for the other hand grip though.
