I had a fun session a couple weeks ago. I thought I might share a few.

We met at their home, which is always fun since you can see what they are like and get more of a glimpse of their personalities. And then we went to a place I know of that has a gorgeous view and a train + caboose for some fun backgrounds.

I just love the mature couples. They just seem so much more sure of themselves.

And then because I had a captive model, lol, I did a few shots of Cathy all by herself.

C & C always welcome:lust

Beautiful work here Heather. They're all strong, but I can't keep my eyes off the eighth photo (#9). Crazy cool!

Thanks Ten...

#8 (or whatever it is) is my favorite too... though I do have to say there were about 10 in that pose that were super steamy.

Geez, after all this time you'd think I'd learn how to count.
I just did the old... add this one...take it out... add a different one and then lost count. Ahhh well.

Heather you were just distracted by that killer photo... seriously you nailed that!

9 is jawdropping...breathtaking...gorgeous!!!

6 is also very strong. I bet it looks better the bigger it gets. That angle is harder to get right than it looks.

Another stellar set from heather!!!

Well I fixed the numbering... So the one we were referring to was #8.

Thanks Wachel...

Well, I could tell you... but then I would have to kill you.

No just kidding.

I did a bit of exploring one day and stumbled across it! It is the perfect spot! :) Here (http://www.ambiencephotographyalaska.com/Customer-Galleries/Families/The-Creech-Family/Creech-9903-Edit/822876395_tbYPL-M.jpg) is a shot from a different couple to show the cool view from across the street. Perfect for portraits when you can get the sky to cooporate.

Excellent shots. I liked them all except for the last one: It's an ungainly pose where she appears to be pushing the ground :) Cheers.

Well, don't be jealous! Just get out there, practice, and make your own! :rofl:lust

Setup and other details:

All were taken with the 5DII
and the lenses used were the 35 1.4 and the 70-200 2.8 IS- Both of which I just love like crazy.

Lighting? 1,2,4 & 6 are all ambient.

An interesting study in light are #s 5 & 7. They are the exact same pose, exact same single speedlight through brolly light setup. On one you have some gorgeous fill balanced with ambient... and the other a really soft rimlight. Both really work well to give it a soft glowy feel.

And then the last 3 all have a main and a rimlight. The main is speedlight through a brolly, and the rimlight has no modifiers.

Beautiful Heather! My favorite is #7, just love the moment you caught there, looks so natural! :lust Cute photos, can't wait to see their wedding pics :D
The only one I don't *love* is the last one ... there is something about her pose (arms) that makes me think she's gonna jump at me, ... but then ... she's smiling ... just don't quite get it ...

that makes me think she's gonna jump at me, ... but then ... she's smiling ... just don't quite get it ... Haha... yeah.... I was trying to do a pose that I remembered Gmonkeh using quite a while ago.... it is supposed to be a sortof "sultry spidergirl" look. We did get some without the cheerful expression, but she has some crazy intense eyes, and they read as almost scary or mad or something. I had a hard time getting her jacket laying right in that pose too. I think I'll probably nix that pose for next time and leave it to Gmonkeh to perfect.

Thanks for the comments, oh fearless mod.:lust

great set heather..#7 is the tops for me! #10..not so much. posing looks awkward and the light on her face looks a bit sinister hehe

Wow Heather! I like em'! Without question 8 is the real stunner here just screaming both "Heather" and "Alaska", but I'll agree with Lynn that 6 is amazing as well. I need to shoot some like 6... I don't often and I should. I also really like the first one of that glacial chunk she wears as an engagement ring! Curves diffused in the background works well! Whoda thunk?

As for the last two model poses though... Gotta say I don't like them so well. Mostly because after seeing the first part of your post, I see how much thinner and more feminine she looks from the profile. I know with my own clients I sometimes have a hard time seeing that sort of thing. I think it has something to do with getting to know someone and starting to see their inner beauty. Hopefully she will like them because that is of course paramount. Not awful Heather... just saying a different angle would have been a little better to my eye.
