New Yorkers! Question for ya

I will be in NY May 5th-7th, and am staying in the Hilton NY hotel.
can anyone tell me if the neighborhood is ok around there?
is there anything to see around? I am meeting a few people, and will not have much time to walk around there.. so would like to go there with a plan.

Heart of midtown, it's perfectly safe. You're minutes from Rock Center, Times Square, and Central Park.
