Now that the iPad camera connector kit is out, who has used it?

I have a 5D Mark II and would love to download photos directly to the iPad to use it as a viewer (a la Epson) and also a backup storage device. Are sRaw1 or sRaw2 files viewable on the iPad? Can I then upload to Aperture the original files--not a compressed form?

The Apple discussion forums don't have a definite answer...

This sort of thing is starting to break down my will power to getting one of these devices sooner than later. This is likely to change the way I travel on the weekends.

I need to upgrade my imac and I thought about the new PowerBook Pro 15" so I could bring it with me all the time and upload photos on the fly. My big concern was the screen size...15" vs the 21.5" or 27" of the new iMac. I know I would loose portability if I go with the iMac, but now after I read those reviews I think the best way for me would be to get the new 27" iMac and an iPad.
This is just AWESOME!!!!

That's exactly what I did. It's - mostly - working quite well.

The 27" iMac is a delight to edit on - lots of room on the screen, and very comfortable for editing. The iPad is great for portability and as a way to share your portfolio. The only real complaint I have with it is that file sharing (for things like Pages or Keynote - I write a great deal) is a real kluge.

Cost wise, it worked out about the same - I spent about as much for both the 27" and the iPad as I would have for a maxed out 15" MacBook Pro.
