Dane (grasshoper) gave me a call and we decided to give Crow Pass a try and see if we could get it in under 6 hours (26 Miles through the backcountry). We headed out to Girdwood and ditched the car to begin the run. We started up and the weather was another beautiful day. The run was pretty uneventful we saw lots of berries that we ate constantantly and were taking more breaks than we knew we should have to do it in time. After coming down over the pass we ran as long as we could until I started to have a bad pain in the back of my leg which would not go away. It continued until eventually we started to go into a quick hike instead of a run. We each got stung by the Yellowjackets and finally made it out of the trail much longer than we had planned at 8 hours and 53 minutes. Overall it was a great day but my leg has taken over a week and is still suffering.

Really enjoyed the landscapes. What amazing country. You did in 8 hours what would have taken me more like 8 days.

I miss Alaska. I was stationed at King Salmon in 1991 and visited Anchorage several times.

Nice photos!
