Have I done a decent job of capturing a story with this?

I might have focused more on the contents and less on the cage.
But otherwise, the message comes through :)

Ian, thanks for looking - I was actually focused on the actual notice.

You might have been focused on the notice but the camera focused on the fence. I think it would have been more effective if the camera had agreed with you. :D

Well put, Harry. About the only way to make that work with the fence in the foreground is to go w/o the AF. Smart of those manufactures to put that little AF/MF switch on those lenses.
Intent and story were still well conveyed. ...and in a way, the focus on the fence helped in telling the story by causing everything behind it to be out of focus (forbidden).

Absolutely correct Harry. It's the fence that snapped to... but my intent, as Dixie caught (thank you D), was to have a shallow DOF.
Thanks for looking guys; comments and advice much appreciated.

Hi there,
The message comes through --loud and strong. Maybe black and white would even make the message resonate louder.
Thanks for sharing.
