First shot at hanging myself out there but I've been practicing the AH chant "Thank You Sir - May I have Another"

Well I like it :thumb
Well timed, and I like the spectators in the bg.
Maybe slighty central, some space for the for the ball to move into might of worked, and I think the colours could be made to pop a little more
A slighty slower shutter to show some movement may have added some interest :dunno
Hey, but I'm just picking nits....cool shot :thumb

Nice peak action shot. The background seems slightly desaturated as well as OOF. I like the foreground subject and the nice delicate background as well. Very nice!
wow! how many frames do you have to shoot to catch one like that?!
i think you caught the moment swell, only thing i'm missing is the batter's eyes.

Nothing wrong with this. Very nice action shot.
Doesn't look like you sharpened it, though. I think you can improve it somewhat by doing that.

Obviously great timing and an excellent grab. I'd crop a little off the left side, it will open up the right side.

Hi Greg,
Now you've asked for it, here it is. Good shot. But why?
You've done a nice job at catching the action. Yes, some blur might help but it still works for me. I like the foreground line coming into the batter. Your subject stands out from the rest, no question as to what you want to viewer to see. Your background gives a sense of place without pulling from your subject:thumb. There were suggestions made above and I agree with them. My only nitpick thing is the yellow on the top and top right. Seems out of place and keeps attracting my eye for no particular reason. Easy enough to fix of you want.
An enjoyable photo to look at and study, good shot:clap.
Thanks for sharing and I'd like to say,
"Thank You Sir - May I have Another"

I must admit, the full bat on ball shot has been a hard one to capture.
I sell photos off proof sheets and had a mother looking through and saw this one and commented " Oh I'll have one like this, with the bat on the ball, of my son". I was suprised at easy she thought that photo was to capture. May be easy for some but I'm still working on it. :D

OK here it goes, and while I agree with much of the above, any ball on bat shot is a great shot, you can even see the deflection of the ball.
To me, knowing what is involved, no blur is needed, a better crop would have been great but alas, it was not so.

XO,
Would you elaborate on how to improve the crop?
Thanks - Greg

Yes, like one of the posters said previously leave more room in the direction where the ball has to go, however that was at shooting, so now after the fact, it is whhat it is, and you did a great job.

Have to add my kudos :clap
I do agree about the yellow areas as they are distracting. I would clone them out.
Still a great image :thumb
