View Full Version : A few from Yellowstone

I went to Jackson, WY last week for a few days to take photos of the snow covered landscapes and hopefully some wildlife. Besides a half-dozen moose that were 200 yards away the wildlife pickings were slim and the weather turned overcast so I made the (7 hour in winter) detour up to Yellowstone.
Here are some of my favorite shots from that quick trip:

Very nice, Ron! Those howling coyotes are awesome. Looks like it's still winter there. Man I would love to go back in a month or two.

Jackson was pretty dead as was the north entrance to Yellowstone (both places were a lot busier when I was there in late Sept/early October, and my previous trip in June).
kdog - let me know if/when you're heading back. I definitely plan on making a trip sometime in June when the calves are running around and wildflowers are blooming.

Great natural shots Ron, beats any zoo any day. I like number two for its pose in natural surroundings. The snow is evident but your shutter speed was fast enough not to cause those annoying streaks.
Look forward to seeing more.

At this time of year do you still have to take a registered guide tour to get around?

Ha. I've been reading and hearing so much about the wolves in Yellowstone lately that
I jumped the gun and thought that the coyotes were wolves.
Oh well, I still like it.:D
