A little grab I got while photographing a bike tour last weekend.

http://photographybywoodrock.smugmug.com/photos/31696455-L.jpg

The tour participants were camped in the Gathering Grounds of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians just north of Manistee, MI. He was wandering around, greeting folks.

I originally wanted him to take off the glasses, but in retrospect, I kind of like the effect - modern mixed with the traditional.

Let me know what you think.

Hi Anumsie,
With the glasses, it has an ironic feel as he's in full dress but the glasses are really out of place (stereotypical veiw). I like the capture:D as it is.

Thanks for sharing,
Chris

That is super sharp and looks great in B&W. Wasn't he colorful, though?

I think I'd have tried to get at least one shot without his specs if that was possible. And I'd like to see the shot in color. The B&W conversion is fine, but I feel there must be some color there too that might be4 interesting. :):

He wasn't as colorful as you might think. Here's the original color, which isn't too bad.

I went more with the B&W as I think it really emphasizes the details on the face more. With all of the shades of brown and white, there wasn't much contrast of his skin.

And yeah, I'm kicking myself on the glasses... :huh

I wonder how it would look in sepia? Here's a pic I recently took at a powwow in upper Manhattan. What do you think?

I tried sepia and it was just too brown for me.

Love your shot! That's the kind of color and texture that really grabs me.
