Mt. Shucksan, North Cascades

My wife and I travelled to Skagit Valley in the NorthWest corner of Washington state to attend WFO-4 (Western FJR Owners Rally #4). One of the suggested local rides was to head up the Mt. Baker highway which tops out at aptly named Artist Point. From this vantage point you get awesome views of Mt. Shucksan and Mt. Baker.

I have only a small point and shoot (Canon SD400) with which to take pictures with presently. The following images are not as good as most of the images you-all present here on dgrin, but I'm learning.

This image is a reflection photo of Mt. Shucksan just below Artist Point:

The only improvement I could think of on the first photo is to get that white sky toned down. Those of us who know how, do this by cheating. ;) We use gradutaed neutral density filters or we blend two photos in PS. Pretty good work for a point and shoot.

Thanks S. Reed for the encouragement. Since I've never done a blend of two photos - I'll need to learn.

I've searched on dgrin and see there are a number of threads on this topic. I'll spend some time studying/practicing and see what I can do to the first image. :photo
