Gatorland in Orlando, FL, has a rookery that is noted for the number and variety of birds, especially this time of year. Right now the Great Egrets are displaying, nesting and hatching. Snowy Egrets are displaying and starting to build nexts, Cattle Egrets are showing up as are the Little Blue and Tri Colored herons. Also present and nesting are Wood Storks, cormorants, anhingas and a few Roseate Spoonbills. The last 4 mentioned are on the far side of the Gator pond so you need a pretty long lens to get them. These are just a few from my last visit.

Nice shots. On the second one especially I would clone out the portion of another bird showing. Tougher on the other ones but worth a try.

Thanks, Alex. I might try the cloning on the second shot but not the others. There are so many birds there, almost impossible not to have that sort of shot. Kind of "either feast or famine" sort of place and right now it is "feast" stage, all the better for photographers.

I'll be making my first run up to the rookery in St. Augustine next week.
