These are some shots I took last Sunday morning. I hiked up the Red River in Kentucky, now designated a Wild & Senic River. In the 1970's there was a proposal to dam the River and flood the Gorge, thus creating a lake for recreation and provide jobs in a traditionally depressed area.
Thirty years ago I joined the ranks opposing the dam...
Some things just need to be preserved for all to enjoy...

By the way, the hike was wonderful.

Nice series Shaman! I like the first one because it gives you a feeling of being in the river. :thumb

Yes, very beautiful area. You presented it well. You got some nice reflections in there. I like how you can see the rock has been rounded out by the river in the first one - also like the perspective.

These are all very good Shaman, but that first one is a wall hanger. :thumb

They remind me of some of the places in western NC that I frequent.

Beautiful indeed, as previous posters have stated. It looks so peaceful and desolate. Great photos, and I agree with AJ, the first one would look particularly good on a wall. :wink

Ana & Rich...
Thank you both for the nice comments:D The place is peaceful, especially once you've hiked a mile and a half or so and get away from the riff-raff and ya-hoos!
Oh, and the first shot is hanging on the wall in my den...:1drink
