Differences on my page with IE and Firefox ??

My rough site looks fine to me on Firefox.

However, I just looked at it using IE and noticed two odd things:

My photo gallery thumbnails show four across on Firefox. On IE, there is an empty space for the first thumbnail, and then one gallery is on the second line.

Also, the box around the photo galleries is broken near the top of the box. But it is fine in Firefox.

Please help! :scratch

am i asking the wrong questions? because my free trial is almost up and i can't figure out how to resolve a couple of things.

So odd. I am using IE 8. I just cleared everything from my browser and revisited the page and this is what it still looks like to me: (note the gap right above the first row of thumbnails and how one thumbnail is below the line where it should be)
