Took another Saturday afternoon trip to Yosemite. While sitting and photographing the sun setting on Cathedral Rocks, Bridalveil Fall and El Capitan, I was struck by this log. It really didn't even hurt! Actually, it was there before me, I thought it needed to be captured...

I wonder if any body heard it. Good shot I like the color in the log.

At first I thought the log might fence off the upper part, but the broken branches pointing
up on the log easily leads the eye to the stream. I really like this picture. My eyes first catch the
wonderful tecture and color of the log then funnel to the beautiful smooth water.
Very nice and very interesting.:clap

I like this one. Maybe a bit wider tho?
How are the falls? Still raging or calmer now?

Love the shot and the colors. Nice look to the water due to the 8 sec exposure.
The falls were really raging when I was in the park the second week in May. When I left Yosemite, they had closed the park to in-coming traffic and the Merced was over its banks and I had to ride the motorcycle through about 8"-9" of water in front of the chapel.
BTW, what do you use to do your framing? I really like it.

Thank you Dixie, this is one of my favorite shots from that day. I made a frame template in Photoshop.
