Thank you, Annabella. I wondered if anyone would think the first one was soft. I redid it again just now.
But I think you are right, I like the compostion better in the second one, too. I was just concerned that the fish wasn't noticeable enough: for some reason I have had a lot of trouble in post today.

Hi Ginger,
Ewwwww those pelican shots are evil :D I like 'em. #2 or 4...but you know what bothers me? I feel they are crowded...cropped too tight. I need some space on the right side. Is there anything left on the file...or is that full frame? Give that pelican a bit of space to chew. :thumb Might also do a bit of burning on the background. Bit bright and harsh (oe) IMHO. Just my nickles worth of input.

ginger - i liked your entry - good clear crisp shot - but i was wanting "more"
