This is my two year old wearing her favorite lizard shirt. She's got a closet full of dresses, but wears this bright orange shirt to everything! What do you all think? How can I improve this photo?
Thanks!

she's beautiful and it's a great shot. :thumb
I might not have chosen to crop it so tight, that's all.

I might not have chosen to crop it so tight, that's all.I think the background may have been distracting, otherwise I would agree with you Angelo. This is a great picture. My only critiqye is that she has some hot spots on her face. I touched it up quickly, what do you think?

I agree about the background being distracting, can that be fixed with photoshop? (which I don't have yet). Also, this is probably a dumb question, but what are "hot spots" and how do I avoid them? I actually didn't crop this picture, but I guess I took it too close?
Thanks for the ideas everyone!

Don't be afraid to ask questions, I can honestly say that no one here will laugh at you. If you don't know what someone is talking about just ask them, more often then not you will be asking for others who also did not know what was being talked about.
Hot Spots are overexposed spots. They are caused by too much flash or harsh lighting situations such as bright sunlight. As far as the background I meant that it looks like there is a table and maybe some toys on the ground and that if there was more of the background, a looser crop, then they would take away from the picture. You could get rid of the background in PS but it takes a little bit of work. I think it is ok how it is.
