These would have been culled except these are the only ones I have :D
He made one pass at about 200 - 100 yrds and then gone. I just let the machine gun do her thing :lol4. Now I only need to bring home better shots, but I feel good about this small success.
Oh and I learned I need a TC1.4 ASAP!!!

Looks to me like he was looking right at me

My machine gun would not fire at one pass.

And those are good shots.

I am seriously concerned re my 300L lens that I am supposed to trade this month. Maybe I have the settings wrong, but I am having lots of trouble focusing when the camera is held for a vertical shot. And I am still not getting good focusing.

Great that you found the bird. Talk nice to him, he might stay around. That is probably his territory or something.

About time. :lol

Congrats Ben. You will love the 1.4 TC when you get it. I found the 300mm and the 1.4 to be a perfect combo.

Beautiful bird...nice captures. I'd like to pick up a 300mm f/2.8 soon. :D I've been living with a 200mm to this point...but often have to crop a good bid on the "BIF" shots. I suppose a 1.4 tele would help...but want the prime first.

Hope you get another chance to machine gun this fella.

Cheers
