These are old pictures I took with my handy Olympus 750UZ(10x optical woohoo). They aren't the best but they are all I have and were from a fun trip.

These were taken at Rolling Stone Lake in Wisconsin on an ice fishing trip. It was early morning and about -25 with wind chill and we had to walk about a half mile in foot deep snow.

That is me by the way and I'm sitting on a big bucket turned upside down.
It started out cloudy and snowing but then cleared up. Then there wasn't a cloud in the sky so the backgrounds were bright blue, but with the Olympus you get cyan and magenta outlines from high contrast edges so please excuse those.

We fished all day and in the early afternoon we were visited by some hungry Bald Eagles. They had a nest on the edge of the lake and anytime someone caught a Northern Pike they would fly over to see if they could grab an easy meal. So with the bait of fresh fish flopping on the ice I got a couple pretty close shots.

This last one is my favorite. We thought it only fair that since they were being such good sports about letting us take their pictures that they should at least get something out of it.

Thanks for looking and I hope you like my pictures. I think they came out pretty good for a Point and Shoot, but I love the 10x Optical zoom, none of that fake Digital zoom for me.

Here are links to the galleries if you want to see a little more.

I really like the mood in the first picture, and you've got some great shots of the eagle.

Thanks Ben:D . It was extremely cold and I'm glad I was able to convey that in the pictures. It was awsome to have the Eagles that close. It was like they were sticking around just for me.

Thanks for the comment Marlof. It was very foggy all morning and since it was soo incredibly cold out it just froze onto the trees and made for a picturesque setting. The ice on the trees, the bright blue sky, Eagles flying overhead, and my camera in hand, I didn't want to leave.

Nick,

I agree with Harry. You did a very nice job with the eagle shots :thumb :thumb I like your other shots too. They are nice to look at when most of us are sitting in 80 degree + temps...LOL

I'm still looking for my 1st eagle in the wild. I hope I capture him/her as well as you did :clap

Oh stop it, you guys are starting to make me blush. No really, thanks for all the good comments on these shots, you're just about making me think I may know a little bit about what I'm doing.

Hey, cool! that is a double entendre..............it does look cool! And cool shooting!

I have never seen an eagle, I have had one pointed out to me 20 yrs ago, but I couldn't "see" it, didn't have a 300 plus 1.4 then.
