What can you do if you want to get so close to the subject, you hide all the light?

This one showed up while I has having dinner, and waited for me to fetch the camera.

Raz You can use long lens(but i personally find them not close enough) or macro lens or a ring flash?http://digitalgrin.com/images/smilies/icon10.gif
