Just found out about this site from Michael Hansen and decided to try out the waters, so here's my first post. I took this on Saturday while in Yosemite for the afternoon. This is looking towards Mt. Dana and Mt. Gibbs.

Comments/critiques welcome...

Welcome, and great subject. It could use a bit more punch - maybe some added contrast would help it stand out more? Looking forward to more.

Hey Mike, welcome to DGrin!

Your shot is like a painting. Smooth water there. Well done.

Thanks for the comments! I've already punched the heck out of it already...so much so I'm surprised you don't see bruises!

Here's the "original"...

This is a great shot! Maybe punch isn't the word. I like to make an overlay layer at about 30-40% for images like this to get rid of the kind of "gray wash" look. It's totally personal preference, I really like the subtle colors you have in the edited version, too.

Nice to have you here, post more! :thumb

I love this shot especially for the foreground. What was your camera setting?
Thanks for sharing. :thumb

Hi Mike glad you made it! I'm still somewhat new here too!

If it were mine....I would punch it like this...

Just my 2 cents....I like saturation always had a soft spot for Velvia images :D

I would normally ask permission before touching another mans image...but since we're friends...you can beat me up later:hide

I agree with you Michael, I love Saturation too. Sometimes maybe a bit too much, so I tend to be a bit cautious. I'm going to order that one (and a few more) in an 8 x 10, so I think I'll bump it up a bit more...:D

I just saw your edit! :rofl When are we going to Bodie and will you carry me around all day?
