I am just starting out learning photography.. Thought I would play around today and take a photo of my 6 month old Daughter.
I would like to hear your opinions and suggestions to what I can do to improve... you all are so talented, enjoy seeing your work!
Thanks so much in advance.

That is good except for being washed out, need to back it down a bit.

James.

P.S. I LOVE the expression.

Stephanie - your daughter is absolutely adorable.

I agree with James that the photo is a little washed out. Probably the result of the flash; I can see its hot spot in her eyes and her skirt is blown out.

On your next try, have her slightly to one side in your framing and perhaps turned 3/4 to the camera. Soften your flash or bounce it. Choose a background with some depth of color and a blouse for her that contrasts a bit more with her skin tone.

Very nice try :thumb

I don't think it'll be us teaching you, more like the otherway round.

Yes the skirt is over-exposured but you knew that.
The focus doesn't look tack-sharp - this of course could be to do with resizing for the web.
And really scraping the barrel, the grey b/g is a little uninteresting. I think it's draining her colour a little.

well done.:clap

what flash are you using?
