I managed to capture some images last week - we haven't had a decent sunrise / sunset round here since.

Do any of these work or do I need to bribe the weather forecaster to get another decent sunrise/sunset.

C&C always welcome.

I like #1 and #6 best.

In #1, I like that the sky is bright behind the tower giving a very dramatic effect.

Have you considered a pano for #6 (the ole 4x10 crop!)? As is, it has too much sky to my eye.

With a pano, you could bring the silhouette up a bit in the frame for a more balanced look. I know that the sun peeping out from the clouds and throwing those lovely beams is really gorgeous, but I think you can retain enough of the drama of the light even with a crop. And it's about the skyline, right?

Love your title for #6.

Just a thought and my 2 cents worth.

I actually like #3 best....and I have to say, the abstract one is growing on me. I love the sky in #6, but the silhouetted skyline is not very interesting( but that may just be me). Nice shots though:clap

#1 and #5 for me... the tones of the sky in 1 are just great, and i like the way the sun is just barely behind the object in 5.

I have another suggestion: #2, cropped vertically and to the right to emphasize the negative and positive space in the mass v background. It looses some of the drama of the sky (though not all), but the symmetrical forms on the outside of the dark mass are very interesting. They actually look a bit like amused cartoon faces.

It's a very different direction than trying to make a fabulous picture of the sky with a framing silhouette, but might be an idea to try and look at in your picture. It'd be more abstract, but also, because of the character of the white space, somewhat amusing.

#5 for me. I like the abstractness. For the others, there seems to be so much sky that I get drawn away from the silhouette.
