OK OK so I still got no Osprey but

I did finally find one of these in a rather interesting setting I think.
I thought this was a baby rattler but as Allen showed me it's a Florida banded water snake (don't think I've ever seen one in this area). And now I'm still on the hunt for a real Rattler :D

Cool shots of the snake!

I finally SAW a couple of snakes this summer. I even got shots, but mine were not in the water, are not good shots like yours.

Funny, my snakes were not coming towards me, they were "running" away.
What did you do to annoy him, and how did you get away?

We had an aligator scare us one night. Or I was scared, I think my husband just wanted an excuse to leave, smile. The aligator finally swam away, I came back, disappointed husband followed.

(Maybe if you called the newspaper someone would know where there would be a post and stand for Osprey nesting in your area. I know of two in the Charleston area, I am sure there are some I don't know about.)

In San Pedro near Palos Verdes North and Anaheim St. Big area but pretty rough. It seems there are lot of let's just say 2 legged wildlife on the non american type living in the bush. When I see you I'll explain better :D

As someone who knows snakes a little bit, let me take a sec to remind everyone to learn the differance between poisonous and non-poisonous, knowing what just bit you by suprise could save you some day. And ALWAYS remember that the baby snakes poisonous ones are VERY dangerous, they can be much more deadly than an adult. Those of us that enjoy getting out in nature to enjoy photography need to remember we are uping the odds of suprizing the wrong snake, it pays to know them even if you hate them.

I certainly have followed it in my short 55 yrs :D
This guy (not being sure of his species) was given plenty of room to run. I have always found that animals in general just don't want to be cornered, and when it comes to our slithering residence I look before I put my foot down or any other part of my body!! :thumb

I just can't keep my snakes straight, not at all. They should have, and we should have, a laminated thingy to put in our backpacks re snakes, especially the poisonous ones. Spiders, too.

Also, I have seen two snakes this year. I have also fallen down many more times than that, just by stepping on something wrong. I have walked into trees, too..................

I think Harry has a point about looking up vs down. We can't be looking everywhere at once?
