I have heard back from several customers about how an e-mail won't go through to me when they try to reach me through my site. I have a link that when clicked on, should put them in position to send me an e-mail. Could something have happened to mess up that link?
Thanks.

Sharkis your email "theeshark@...." or "theshark@..."? Your links are all "theeshark@..."

It's theeshark@roadrunner.com
Theshark was already taken, so I had to settle for thee.

I would think that many people would look at 'theeshark" and think it was a typo and use "theshark" instead. Conversely - people trying to reach "theshark" and accidentally using two "e"s instead would reach you. I would go for more distinctness to avoid any possible confusion....IMO.
Heck - sharkphotos@.... would be a lot better.
At any rate - I just clicked on your link to send you a test message. Let me know if you get it.

Shark,
have you seen one of the many new features that SM provides...I think it would work a lot better than what you have now....some people dont use an e-mail client, so your method might deter them from getting in touch with you....You should try the in-house contact form that Smugmug provides.......
Thread about this feature HERE (http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=1300332&postcount=1)
I have a working example on my site HERE (http://www.joerallen.com/gallery/10089563_3QZG8)
If you want this feature...on your contact page, just change your album description area to this:
<html>
If you would like to get in touch with me, please click the "Reach Out To Shark" link below to send me an e-mail. Or click on the "E-MAIL ME" links found at the bottom of every page on this website. You may want to inquire about a special order that you have in mind that is not offered on my site, or you just might want to say "Hey Shark". Whatever the reason may be, by all means, feel free to do so. Upon receipt of e-mails, I always try to respond back within 24 hours. <br>
Thank you.
<br>

<br>
<br>
<a href="#" onclick="return false;" id="contactUsButtonFooter">
Reach Out To Shark
</a>
<script type="text/javascript">
YE.onDOMReady(function() {SM.buttons.contactUsButton = new SM.buttons.contactUs('contactUsButtonWrapper','con tactUsButtonFooter',{buttonText: 'Contact', panelTitle:
'',
currentPage: '/', currentPageOverride: '', referringPage: 'http://www.smugmug.com/logout.mg?skipDomainCheck=1&goTo=http://www.pbs131.smugmug.com', pro: '', modal: true, popupName: 'contactOwner', ownerNickName: 'Shark', width: '755px', albumID: '', additionalParams: 'FooterContact'});});
</script>
</html>
Do the same for your footer e-mail....just change your custom footer box to this:
<center>
<div id="sharks_footer">
<a href="#" onclick="return false;" id="contactUsButtonFooter" color="yellow">
<font color="yellow">E-MAIL ME</font>
</a>
<script type="text/javascript">
YE.onDOMReady(function() {SM.buttons.contactUsButton = new SM.buttons.contactUs('contactUsButtonWrapper','con tactUsButtonFooter',{buttonText: 'Contact', panelTitle:
'',
currentPage: '/', currentPageOverride: '', referringPage: 'http://www.smugmug.com/logout.mg?skipDomainCheck=1&goTo=http://www.pbs131.smugmug.com', pro: '', modal: true, popupName: 'contactOwner', ownerNickName: 'Shark', width: '755px', albumID: '', additionalParams: 'FooterContact'});});
</script>
</div>
</center>
Also add this to your CSS to remove some of the empty boxes on your site:
.nophotos {display:none;}

Hey Joe - if I am not mistaken that's a Pro feature - and I do not think Shark has a pro account (yet).

Your right....this is a "pro-only feature......I glanced at some of his pictures to see prices before I recommended this option....is there a way to tell if someone has a "pro" account or "Power account"?

Check to see if they offer digital downloads, have custom prices, or have custom watermarks (other pro-only features).

Yes I did get a test message when I got home from work. Thanks. Actually, many of the people who have told me that this has happened to, are people that know me, so I don't think it's the confusion of the address. Besides, once they click on the link, they don't type anything in, except to tell me what they would like. I can't figure out why it happens, especially since you were able to send me an e-mail.

I do have a Pro Account. I do like the idea that you have J Allen, but how does the message get to me coming from a customer?

Quote from Smugmug:
Control panel, Pros tab. Click the 'edit' link and put in your email address. Yes, it can be different from the address you use for your SmugMug account. Once you enter it, we'll send a validation email to your email address - click the link in that email to validate and you're all done.
