Something fast, anyway!
Also hard to tell, Canon or Nikon? Looks like Nikon logo but soft.

I'd be willing to guess it's this Nikon 600mm f/4 prime (http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=85&sort=7&cat=12&page=3)... http://www.digitalgrin.com/images/smilies/eek7.gif

Does he really think he can hold that thing steady enough to get a decent shot?
Maybe zero gravity helps.:wink

Here's a look (http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/123625main_s114e5070_high.jpg)at what I would guess is a photo from that Nikon lens. You can clearly see chunks missing from the so-called "bipod" area on the right, as well as the large chunk missing from the "PAL ramp" (center/bottom).

Actually, I think I was wrong. The previous one was taken from a camera mounted in the umbilical well (one the belly of Discovery). This one (http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/123612main_s114e5002_high.jpg) is one of the handheld shots taken by the shuttle crew.
