I was in Joshua Tree National Park 3 days ago and took a few shots around the sunset time. Hope you enjoy them.


With this one, I timed and positioned myself so that I capture the sun right before it goes hiding behind the rock in the right:

With this one, I timed and positioned myself so that the sun was placed inside the hole created by the tree branch:

Same location, I turned around and shot what was behind me (now the sun is behind me):

Oh wow... awesome landscapes! The colors are so beautiful... this is true painting with light!

Was just wondering, do you have any tips on shooting into the sun?

Love it! JTree is, of course, among my favorite places. :D

Was just wondering, do you have any tips on shooting into the sun?

Thank you, Mia! It was around the sunset time and there was a thin layer of clouds in the air which was filtering out the strength of the sun so it made it easier to shoot into the sun. I also had a polarizing filter on and took multiple exposures of this scene.

Thanks! It is now for me too. First time I was there, I didn't spend enough time exploring it like I did this time.
