Inspired by Harry....

First of all I credit Harry's wonderful shots for inspiring me to improve my New Yawker boids.

Second, I curse him for addicting me to trying to get the perfect egret/heron shot and constantly falling short of his wonderful examples.

(P.S. - Personally, I think he has an unfair advantage - I still have to work too hard ensuring that my children won't go hungry)

So here's one I think is not so bad.....

FWIW, I find that the toughest part of nailing Egrets is the lighting I'm shooting in. Early morning and later in the afternoon gives me the best chance of nailing them without blowing parts of the white out and yet not having an overly dark background.

As I mentioned, this one looks very nice. Keep it up and you'll be giving Harry a good run for his money....lol

That's and excellent shot in very challenging lighting conditions. I do have an unfair advantage. I have unlimited time and an abundance of birds to shoot. My first six month of shots down here sucked big time. I didn't meet an egret that I didn't blow out.
