Trail camp (12,000') below Mount Whitney (14,496')
Shot this on the last day of an eight day backpacking trip.
We summited Mount Whitney the day before :D

Very nice shot. I really like composition and the exposure is right on. I like the way the curves work in the shot.

:roflThe shadow had me fooled for awhile, could'nt figure how a ridge could cast
it. If you screen off the top it looks the ground keeps going down to just in front of
the photoguy.
Didin't notice it's a reflection. Brain kind'a slow today.
Realy nice compostiion.

In person this was the most amazing reflection...almost a perfect mirror!
It attracted more than a couple of photographers that morning.

excellent shot. definately played with my head at first glance. beautiful to begin with and even better becuase of its "illusion" quality and thus requires deeper and closer inspection!

Yep, that's what makes a good photo. Makes the viewer want to stay and look for a while. This is wonderful. Nice curves, nice reflection, great composition. Congratulations on a great capture.

I've stared and enjoyed this picture. I've read other's comments... I still can't wrap my brain around what I'm looking at exactly but it sure is pretty. Nice job. :thumb

Until I saw the man's reflection I didnt realise I was looking at water....Really wonderful and very interesting compesition and subject. Very, very nice!:clap

Wow, I too really had to study this to see what is going on. Michael, you're right - the reflection is just like a mirror. Don't see that very often.
