Kodak Picture of the Day

Back in Feb I posted a photo of my daughter and her friend here

On that thread DeanMcM (http://member.php?u=844) recommend I submit it for the Kodak POTD, so I did and then promptly forgot about it. Well, out of the blue today, Kodak emailed and said the photo had been selected for Aug. 22, 2005. Fun stuff.

I didn't realize they kept them on file and selected this far out. So, since I admire so many great photos by far better photographers here all the time (yes I often lurk), I encourage you to submit your fine work if you would like to see it on Times Square. I know several have, but figured I would share my experience since I didn't realize it could be selected so long after having submitted.

Oh, for criminellie's sake! Yes, that is a perfect Kodak shot. A great shot in every way.

I finally sent some more in, even one of children I do not know. I sent them just the other day. I don't watch my spam mail all the time, but I think I would know if any of mine were accepted.

I really do think I am a good photographer (gonna pat myself on the back here), but I can't get Kodak's attention for nothin'.

Congrats on that shot being accepted. It is wonderful. Could you please send children to me, with return ticket, post haste? Not that I would know how to photograph them as well as you did.

Criminellie. I haven't sent anything in since Dec or Jan until about a wk ago.
I do that, then I sit and wait, all excited, then I am not excited, just apathetic.............I mean that is work, IMO.

Congrats again. OOoooooooooooh, am I jealous.

Ginger - keep up the submissions, I am sure one will catch their eye. I have seen your great work here on the forums. I think it is just a matter of hitting the reviewers taste at the moment.
