Hello!
After a year or so with SmugMug, I thought I'd try a bit of discipline, entering at least one contest a month this year (still a long way from Photo of the Day)..

At any rate, I've read (and I think, understood) the rules, but any advice is appreciated.

I've uploaded a first attempt to my site, before uploading it to the challenge site. Comments would be appreciated.

I think I'm going to title it "Outgrown, bronzed, and forgotten".

I agree, the shot is great but the titile does not do it justice

i agree. the shot has an ethereal (sp?) quality, cloudlike. maybe something like "forgotten dreams" to evoke some thought...

cheers,
mark;)

Welcome to the Challenges! There is definitely a lot to be gained by getting this into your photographic routine.

I like your shot. Not so keen on the title. Maybe focus on why the bronze shoes are in the snow. Are they really forgotten and thus discarded? Or is this instead a memorial to childhood? What does the image say about our attempts to preserve memories against the erosion of time? I think that's the story in this image.

it's really good, the soft focus is nice, but i personally prefer sharp focus

Thanks, everyone. I've called it "frozen memories" and uploaded it to the competition site. Lots of other good looking works there already and still a bit of time left.

P.S. The shoes were actually my first pair - many many many decades ago.
