null themes in categories

Hi,
I did a search but couldn't find any matches to this issue, so have started this thread.

I have a very stock standard site with little customisation, as I prefer to keep it simple, but one thing I've noticed is that if I change my homepage theme, only some galeries, category pages, etc change their theme too, and some remain "black". Upon investigation I found that pages that use the "null" theme will change with the parent page, but those set to "default" or something else, won't.

My question is, Is there a way to reset ALL gallery, category and sub-category pages to "null" so that they all change when I change the homepage theme?

I ask because I find that the site very quickly can become quite ugly when it changes it's look for every page you enter. I tried going into the Customise Settings for the theme in ALL galleries, but this only changes the galleries and not the Category and Sub-Category pages, I couldn't find a way to change them.

I don't know what you're talking about with the reference to a "null" theme as I haven't seen such a choice in my theme's list (if you do, then it's probably a bug). I do know that you can set any category to the "default" theme and then it will automatically inherit the all pages theme that you set in the control panel. If you change the all pages theme in the control panel, then all pages set to the default theme will change automatically. On my site, all new categories automatically get the "all pages" theme from the control panel.

Thanks for your quick reply. Sorry, the "null" theme, is not in the list, it is in the theme button drop drop menu where it says "Current theme: null". Most are set to "default" like you say, and as I read the help, it also says what you stated, but I find that the "null" galleries change not the "default". I might just have to manually go through all my categories, sub-categories, etc and change them all to default and then everything will start to work as designed! :dunno

One possible way this could have occured (just a guess on my part) is that once upon a time, you had these categories set to a custom theme you created and perhaps that custom theme got deleted, thus stranding these categories with no proper theme assigned.
