Right now my custom domain for ddbimages.smugmug.com is www.s3nets.com (http://www.s3nets.com). However, I am about to start using www.dannyberryphotography.com (http://www.dannyberryphotography.com) and wonder the best method for migrating to minimize broken existing photo and gallery links containing s3nets.com. Ultimately I will change the A record and CNAME with GoDaddy for both domains and right now I have simply set up forwarding w/masking for dannyberryphotography.com to go to ddbimages.smugmug.com.

I guess my main concern is those existing links out there that contain s3nets.com in the url. At this point, what can someone recommend as my next best step to get things set up on a permanent basis? Thx!

Well, I will gleen from the lack of suggestions that it is what it is. :D

I guess the only other question I have then is how long does it take to go into effect changing the custom domain on smugmug's side to reflect the new domain?

Hopefully someone else will join in on this conversation I'm having with myself.....:D

Another thought I've had is that it's possible the existing links with s3nets.com will not break so long as I setup forwarding for s3nets.com after I setup the A Record and CNAME for dannyberryphotography.com with GoDaddy. I am basing this on the fact that I am currently forwarding dannyberryphotography.com to ddbimages.smugmug.com and when I test an existing link by inserting dannyberryphotography.com into the URL, the image or gallery comes up just fine. Therefore, the inverse should result in the same. Thoughts? Anyone? :huh

Alright, so here I am again. The change was made a couple of days ago and I'm forwarding s3nets.com to the new domain which is set up with an A Record and CNAME. I've tested some old forum postings from months back and some emails I sent that contained s3nets.com in the URL. They all seem to be working and no links have broken.

I'm glad I was able to help myself get this done as painless as possible. Thanks Danny! :giggle
