Took this picture while in Del Norte Coast State park in Northern California. They were very cool flowers and were very pretty in the fading sunlight. Does anyone know what type of flower it is? Also, if you have any critique for the photo, please feel free.

Ohh! I got a photo of one of those a few days ago as well. I wish I could tell you the type of flower it is, as it is a beautiful flower, and a very beautiful photograph too!

That is Columbine. Grows wild in many states. It's was and I gues still is the state flower in Colorado.
I have imported it into my yard here in KY. My post over in the support section contained a pict I took a couple of years ago.

Hi Cakanode - I see you're from Black Mountain, I live in west Asheville. We have columbines around here also. Saw some last week while up at the lookout tower on Fryingpan Mountain off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Mt. Pisgah. Nice shots in your gallery - maybe we'll cross paths some time while out shooting. Best of luck to you!

Best of luck to you! Thanks for the compliment. I have alot of other pictures that I took with my N55 when I was just learning and had just moved to WNC that I haven't put up yet. Your gallery shots are very nice. You've been to quite a few waterfalls. I have some shots of Catawba Falls and Moores Cove that I haven't gotten scanned yet. Good to know there is a fellow WNC photographer around this forum. Good Luck with all your adventures.
