Just had my browser crash during an upload. I restarted it and selected skip duplicates. The uploader shows "skipping" on every image, but is otherwise working normally. The ones it's really skipping (I hope, anyway) link to the duplicate image.

Is this a known bug?

Dave, I have not experienced that before but I have seen a couple reports of it happening. I will try to replicate and get it to the programmers.

I've been experiencing this problem for a long time now. It used to work properly. But one of the programmers was working on resolving the issue. Sam Nichols was able to reproduce the problem and was working on a fix, but I don't think it's been resolved yet. It's very annoying because I can't trust whether duplicate checking is working properly. Also you loose the % uploaded indicator when this occurs. The only way it can get resolved is if you delete the album and reupload again.

I checked and Sam does have a fix for this in testing. Hopefully it will go out soon. We just want to make sure it does not break anything else and fixes the problem.

This is part of the bug(s) I reported about replacing files. You can only replace them when the image has changed. When only IPTC or EXIF changed, you can't replace your photo's.

I did not know a fix was on the way.... in the mean time, I programmed a script that will just change caption and keywords for images that are already uploaded. This script only works if you have IMatch and can be found in the IMatch scripting forum.

cheers,
Nick.

I found a workaround to this problem and posted it in this thread:

I've been seeing this error since the beginning of November 2009.
