Hi All,

I had used MPix for the second time to print up some B&W prints for a photo contest. I ordered 2ea of 4 8x10 prints and 2ea of 10x13 prints on true B&W paper that they offer (IR shots). I received my order promptly as was my previous experience. Unfortunately, many of the prints were stuck to each other and when I separated them, the emulsion was marred by the backing of the top print. The printing was top notch and the prints were in good shape except for the sticking problem.

I used the link in the email they sent me and basically stated what I said above. Instead of going off and getting bitchy, I asked what we can do to prevent this in the future. Just a note: MPix does have a return and reprint policy of you are unhappy with any of your prints.

I sent them the email in the afternoon and that evening I had a reply from them. They said they would reprint all the 8x10's and get them in the mail the next morning. I originally ordered these prints on Sunday night and I just received my reprints today (Thursday). No sticking and spot on.
Hats off to MPix for their customer service:thumb:clap. Now I just need to get my color ones to them for printing and I'll be all set.

It's nice to see your own prints online, but even better to see them in print form. Looking forward to seeing them mounted and hanging with others at the State Fair.

Hi Chris,

No reason in particular. I used MPix once before for the metallic prints before I learned about smugmug. Since time is a crunch, I'll use MPix for this contest, but I'm willing to try new labs also. After just looking at the Smugmug site, I don't see where I can send in photos to be printed. It looks like you have to have an account, but I may have missed something. I currently use pbase as my photo sharing site.

Have you tried Smugmug's B&W? I didn't see that option on someones site so do they do B&W on color paper? Also, when I print, I don't want the lab to do any color correction and I see that they offer "True Color" which I assume means no color correcting.

I'll definitely give them a try if I can overcome some of the issues mentioned in the second paragraph.

Chris
