So, I think I've fully developed my own opinion on this one and so thought it to be a good choice for critique. So here it is, what do you think:

Interesting perspective this shot was taken from. I had trouble making out what I was looking at for a minute. I first thought it was a in-ground swimming pool.

What I would do personally with this shot would first, in Photoshop, use the "Auto Contrast" followed by the "Shadow & Highlights" filter to increase visibility of the detail in the shadows. After that, my personal preference would be to increase saturation a bit. The sun might have been a little high in the sky when this was taken. I find I spend more time in PhotoShop compensating for poor lighting situations than anything else. Most times, it's well worth the effort though.

It's a very unique shot and I think your composition is right on!

Trish offers good advice to which I can only add: Your focal point is shallow and the trees in the background are soft. This is not necessarily a bad thing. Also, the little bush in the bottom right is distracting because its scale is out of balance with the rest of the shot. I would've framed right or cropped it out.

Nice shot though. Good luck with with your PS work. :thumb

I'll put my 2 cents in even tho I need help with my own landscapes:D My first thought was "I love the subdued colors" my second was "what am I supposed to focus on" and my third was "what is that tree doing there" after that I found my eyes wandering around looking for more and I can't seem to get a perspective on the size of things.. leaves me wanting to go further into the picture to see an old house or castle or something.. as I said I was very drawn to the colors. Sorry this is more negative than positive.
