I picked up an EX-25 extension tube for my E1 and decided to throw my 50-200mm on the end of it. I've seen a lot of great closeups with the combination, so I thought I would give it a shot.

Much easier this way as you can set up with a monopod a few feet away.

A little softer than I would really like, but I think with some more practice and a bit more DOF, I may have something here.

Comments are welcome.

It looks promising but you're right about the softness. What was your aperture setting?

I don't have the original in front of me, but I believe f5.6. I think next time I want to go 2-3 stops more closed down. Sure, I've got the DOF preview on the camera, but you really can't see the effect until you bring the images up in PS.

I think a bit of camera "shake" contributed. Yes, even with the monopod. I wasn't being as careful as I should have - more of just quick experimental shots.

Tripod would be better, of course.
