Nice and simple image. I like the subject and composition. The image is flat for me overall. I think it needs more contrast and color to really be interesting. Also, I think the bright reflection on the base distracts from the focal point.

Remove that watermark! Or at least make it less obnoxious.

That's one beautiful goblet!

I wish the photo did it better justice. As CoryUT said, the lighting and color are totally flat and uninteresting--which is just the opposite of what is needed to bring out the art and energy of the glass.

I also think the composition is pretty weak. The negative space is uneven; the background color just doesn't complement any of the glass colors. So it looks more like a classroom assignment. But the potential is there certainly and I bet you can produce something far more engaging with a few dozen more attempts.

Finally, that watermark is pretty obnoxious. Why don't you just post a low-res version and put the mark in a corner?

Watermark removed. I didn't think of doing a low-res version, I will work on that later.

As far as the image...Initially, I was playing with the shadow and the colors being cast by it and turned the goblet down for a couple of quick shots. Any suggestions regarding the lighting to make it more interesting? I was hoping for minimal post processing because I am working on learning to manipulate light to enhance images.

As far as the negative space, I can tighten the shot with a better crop or getting closer, but I wanted to show the opening from a horizontal perspective and also show the length of the glass.

Really struggling with the creative aspect of lighting which is what I'm working on currently.
