I visited this place on Tuesday http://www.eaglesflying.com/

The first bird I saw was :

and got a better view of him around the corner

The birds are tethered to their perches but there is a flying display twice a day. I took these during the display.

Boyyyyy that looks like you had a wonderful for sure, Eagles are beautiful looking birds, they always look Alert, and ready to fly at a moments notice.
There is something about them that demands respect.
You did extremely well capturing them in flight too, great series of images you've posted.......... Skippy (Australia)

Those are absolutely amazing. I especially like the two shots of the falcon in flight. Very nice work.

Thanks for the compliments folks. I'm glad you liked them.

Re the birds being tethered, it isn't ideal but the place was well run, the birds are very well fed and they do get to fly twice a day.

I know nothing about the habits of birds of prey and, like you, would much prefer to see and photograph them in the wild. This was certainly a much better enviroment than a zoo.

When the birds fly they do respond to the trainers, I saw them as being in the same enviroment as birds of prey that are used to hunt, falconry or a similar sport :dunno .

is an attempt to re-introduce the golden eagle to Ireland. It is progressing but it is difficult work.
