Hi Everyone,

Ok, I'm going to be brave and post a picture! This is with my new Nikon D70. My daughter was feeling left out of her big brother's games. I changed the color to sepia because her bear was bright orange. I don't have photoshop, so I couldn't do anything else. What do you all think?

Shooting pictures of kids is always a ton-o-fun. To get the best shot, it
helps to get down to their level. Either looking up or at or below eye level
is the place to be.

Good use of sepia to "cover" the brighter orange.

Look forward to seeing more!

I like the expression on her face. She really looks like she's missing out and wanting to join in. As Ian said, it's always better to get down to the same level (rule applies to kids and animals). Good in camera sepia but score yourself a copy of Photoshop or similar and you'll see the difference when you can control the adjustments.

All said though it's a lovely candid photo :thumb

I think this is a good capture. Good focus and depth of field. The exposure seems a bit high with some loss of details in the highlights but other than that and the previous comments this is a good composition.
