Office Managerism of the week.

You have all heard and laughed about my office manager before (remember the one who didn't know mexico and canada were part of north america).

Well she gave me a new idiotic statement today.

Conversation regarding fire resistant safes for data storage.

Me:"well there are two ratings we can make work. The better rated safe which is more expensive is the 125 and keeps the inside temp to 125 degrees. The less expensive one that I can rig to work is the 350 which keeps the inside temp to 350 degrees."
OM:"well why is the 350 cheaper isn't it the better one that keeps the insides cooler. Isn't 350 cooler than 125."
Me:"(trying to be professional, not laugh, or call names) No the 125 is cooler inside and thats why its more expensive cause there is more technology in it"
OM:"but the 350 should be better so why is it cheaper...."
Me:"because 125 is cooler than 350 and uses more advanced technology"

I will leave off the rest of the conversation as it is pretty much the same. She is now looking at a website trying to figure it out.

MANDATORY IQ TESTING. Should be required. She makes 2/3's more than I do and has an IQ at least 50 points lower.

I actually worked with a person like this. You have no idea what Dragon is going through!

It's like talking to someone who is mentally ill.

As an example: We had a WIP system on an excel spreadsheet. This would give you an almost real time look at all the work in process. She would have the night crew hand write all the information down on a yellow pad and verbally explain wqhere everything was to her each morning. She was the manager!

One morning she was late to work, and explained that there was some construction on her normal route to work, and she only knew one way to get to work. No detours! She went home called her husband and made him leave his job, and come pick her up and drive her to work.

And there was much worse.

Oh Sam. She comes in late all the time. Came in an hour late the other day and wrote an hour earlier on her time card. Luckily there are some smart people at the company :): who have a CCTV recorder on the time clock and I captured it for the owner. I hope her days are numbered.
