This week's question.......too much? or not enough? I've tried to emphasize the rose itself by desturating the surrounding elements slightly as opposed to blurring them. I'm really looking for advice on composition. Am I too close(perspective) too far away or just........

Thanks much in advance.....and blast away!

Its a pretty rose, and color combo. I love your idea and that mossy green with the pink. I might have had the focal area of the rose just a little lower [if thats doable in a crop] and might have opened the aperture one more stop for a little more light and dreamier background which may set off the rose better having the bokeh all around the rose? I am guessing the two thirds rule here, where the rose is about two thirds high in the photo. Although to each his own, really. I don't always do that either. But I have recently used the "brighten/contrast" tool more often to brighten up my photos. [especially before printing].

Thanks for the comments. I tried your suggestion using curves and was amazed at how much contrast I'd lost and had not realised it.
