Shutter Count for Canon 1D Mk III?

Any idea how to get this?
Yes, I Googled. It appears it is no longer stored in the EXIF data of the images taken. I saw some dedicated utilities that claim to read the shutter count from the camera attached via USB.

Can anyone give me the straight dope on how to get the number of shutter actuations?

To clarify, the version called "EOSInfo" is Windows only and should work with many Canon cameras with the Digic III or Digic IV image processor. The 1D* series is included.

The older version, "40DShutterCount", which is available in both Mac and Windows versions, is more restrictive in the supported cameras.

Try to find a Windows machine, and install the "EOSInfo" version. That is supposed to work, but again, I have no experience. (I will probably try it on my 5D MKII this weekend.)
