got a question - I know you need a w9 form filled out for the pro account...but say, if started the free 7day trial and the pro account, after the trial is up and i pay my 99 bucks and smugmug hasnt recieved the w9 form yet(for watever reason), is the pro-account void until they recieve it? Or do I have a little while to get it filled out and faxed and all.
thanks.

I've had a pro account for over a month now and have never seen or heard of a W9 form.

I have a pro account and haven't done my W9 yet. I appear to have access to all pro-level features except setting my own prices because that's the only pro feature that triggers the need for the W9.

thanks. smugmug's claim is that, with the free trial, you will have ""access to every feature."
The help section on reporting and payment states " Before we can mail out your checks we need this tax form from you." (W9). http://www.smugmug.com/help/reporting
So... I think you have a while to get your W9 form in.

--John Thats not true. It was at least 2 months or so before i got my w9 form in and i could set everything. You only need to turn the form before they will mail out your check.

well, when I set custom prices on my photos they dont stay that way. anyone know the problem? One possibility... if you set custom pro prices and then try to order while you're logged in, smugmug will let you order using default prices. If you logout and try to order... why then it's a whole other story. Could that be it? Just guessing. smugmug has a help desk.

Also, make sure you press the save settings button after setting the prices.

Mailing out checks is a manual process done by Toni. It's the only thing that gets held up if you don't turn in your W9 form because we're required by law to have it before paying.
One thing we're seeing more of is pros will change their address info online at smugmug but not submit a new W9 form. We can only send checks to the address on the W9 form, so unfortunately if you change your address you have to submit the W9 again.

Make sure you have your portfolio prices set first then gallery prices then individual photos prices. That messed me up at first.
